Dorval

Dorval is known as a wonderful family community with lakeside parks, tree-lined street and its proximity to the city of Montreal. You will find a mixture of homes ranging from bungalows, to high-end lakefront homes. Some condos, apartment buildings, and duplexes can also be found. Its recreational facilities are abundant, and very affordable.

Transportation

Dorval is known for its easy access to public transportation. It is served by the Agence métropolitaine de transport train system, with two stations, Pine Beach and Dorval Circle, on the Dorion-Rigaud Line which ends in downtown Montreal. The city is also served by many Société de transport de Montréal (STM) bus lines, all of which converge at the Dorval Circle Terminus.

Sports and Recreation

Three newer, and well-equipped outdoor pools: Walters, Ballantyne, and Surrey. All have hot tubs, diving boards, and snack bars. Ballantyne and Surrey also have a water slide. A new sports and aquatic complex (pools, gymnasium, multi-purpose room, etc.) Two indoor skating rinks: Westwood Sports Center, and Dorval arena Various outdoor rinks Two outdoor public tennis courts and the 'Dorval tennis club' which boasts 8 clay courts. A brand-new soccer turf field, and chalet were completed in 2010. 12 fields (6 mini, 6 regulation size, 1 turf) One municipal and one public golf course are also at your disposal.

Shopping

Dorval Village offers, several restaurants, and shops.
Dorval Gardens is the main mall in Dorval. It has a Maxi grocery store.
There is also another strip mall, off of Herron Road, which also has an IGA store.

Beaconsfield

Encompassing an area both North and South (bordered by Lac St. Louis) of highway 20, this neighbourhood is generally comprised of good-sized lots and large homes. You will find many executive -type homes, as well as higher end properties. Beautiful leafy streets, and parks are numerous here.

Transportation

Beaconsfield is served by the Agence métropolitaine de transport train system, with two stations, Beaconsfield and Beaurepaire, on the Dorion-Rigaud Line which ends in downtown Montreal. The city is also served by several Société de transport de Montréal (STM) bus lines, including the 200, 211, and 221.

Sports & Leisure

Beaconsfield boasts a recreation center complete with an 8 lane indoor pool, gym, and full-sized rink. . The major parks are equipped with chalets, playgrounds and a combination of soccer fields, baseball fields, tennis courts, skating rinks and large hockey rinks plus basketball and volleyball courts. Shopping

Besides the quaint village of Beaurepaire, there are two small shopping centers: Beaconsfield Shopping Center near St. Charles Boulevard; and Elm Plaza.

Pointe Claire

Pointe Claire comprises a large area stretching from Lac St. Louis all the way North over Highway's 20 and 40. It is a well-known community that has much to offer to its inhabitants. The southern-most area is comprised of upscale lakefront houses, executive homes, and many quaint neighborhoods with a variety of styles. The more central part of Pointe Claire, has many more moderately priced homes available. The Lakeshore General Hospital is centrally located in the Pointe Claire area.

Sports and Recreation

Pointe Claire is renown for its Olympic swimmers/divers. The Malcolm-Knox Aquatic Center contains 3 pools, one of which was just completed in 2010. There is an indoor skating rink as well as numerous outdoor ones. You will find an abundance of parks and green spaces, including Terra Cotta Natural Park. Most parks have chalets, outdoor swimming pools, playground equipment, outdoor tennis courts, and soccer and baseball fields. Pointe Claire is home to its own sailing base, public boat ramp, canoe club, lawn bowling and curling clubs.

Transportation

Pointe-Claire is served by three stations on the Agence métropolitaine de transport's Dorion-Rigaud Line: Pointe-Claire Station located at Av. Donegani and Av. Ashgrove, Valois Station located at Av. De-la-Baie-de-Valois (Valois Bay) and Av. Donegani, and Cedar Park Station located on Av. Donegani between Av. Applebee and Av. Aurora[7]. The city is also served by several bus routes operated by Société de transport de Montréal with a major terminal located at Fairview Pointe-Claire.

Dollard des Ormeaux

Dollard des Ormeaux is a family community, which is home to many different cultures and backgrounds. You will find houses varying from first-time buyer semi-detached cottages to million dollar plus upscale neighborhoods.

Transportation

Société de transport de Montréal (STM) provides bus service on many of the City's main arteries, with links to the suburban trains (Pierrefonds-Roxboro and Sunnybrooke), the Dollard-des-Ormeaux's Civic Centre and Fairview shopping centre. As for express buses, they provide access to the Côte Vertu and du Collège métro stations within 35 minutes.
Commuters from Dollard-des-Ormeaux heading to downtown Montreal can use the Deux-Montagnes/Montréal train line, located east of Gouin Boulevard, near des Sources Boulevard or the Pierrefonds-Roxboro and Sunnybrooke trains which can be reached by bus. Public parking and spaces for bicycles are available free of charge for train commuters.

The Dollard Civic Center is home to two pools, and three arenas. Seasonal sports such as swimming, baseball, softball, soccer, football and other sports are organized in most of D.D.O.'s numerous parks, with skating rinks in the winter.

Dollard des Ormeaux has many shopping areas including: Marche de l'Ouest, Galeries des Sources, along with a multitude of outdoor malls, and grocery stores.

Pierrefonds/Roxboro

Running along the North Shore of the West Island, Pierrefonds is a multi-cultural community with homes varying from the starter-home, middle income to luxury home properties. From executive-homes and condos along the Rivieres-des Prairies, to townhouses in the East, you will find what you are looking for. Pierrefonds is also home to the Cap St.Jacques nature parkland which boasts the only remaining beach open to the public in the summer.

Lachine (Ville St. Pierre)

The diverse community of Lachine is centrally-located only minutes from downtown Montreal. It boasts the beautiful Lachine canal, as well as many parks that dot the shores of Lac St. Louis. It also includes the area of Ville St. Pierre. Its homes include smaller two-storey homes, lakefront condos, apartments, duplexes, and larger renovated homes.

Sports and Recreation

Scenic jogging and bike paths run along the lake, and Lachine Canal all the way to the Atwater Market in downtown Montreal.
From September to May, the Complexe sportif du Collège Sainte-Anne makes its pool available to the public. There are also 4 public pools:Parc Duff Court, Parc Lasalle, Parc Kirkland, & Parc Carignan. Many of the various parks, have basketball and tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields, skate parks and playgrounds.
Lachine also is home to the Lachine Curling Club. There are two indoor arenas: Pierre "Pete" Morin, and Martin Lapointe
